The story no one ever tells you what you need to know about your child's education
Most students and their families make the journey from kindergarten through high school without much more contact than the occasional parent's night. So we are ill-prepared for the day we realize that our child has needs that don't fall in the mainstream, and we need more from the school. When that happens, it's hard to know what you don't know about the Individual Education Program until you've been in it for a while, and by then your child has struggled for a long time.
Recognize the fact that data is at the heart of the IEP lifecycle - you must have strong command of the School's data and your data from private testing to effectively advocate for your child and IEP services.
We know how to help you because we’ve been in your shoes.
Our son, PK, had always had difficulties with reading and spelling, but we thought “Well, the school hasn’t spoken up, so it must be OK.”
With PK still struggling by the third grade, however, one teacher finally stepped forward and said, “I share your concerns. I’ll submit him for evaluation.” He was placed on an IEP, and we thought we were out of the woods… at last!
Turns out that it wasn’t that easy. PK’s first Annual Review came, and we were highly skeptical about its findings. So we applied our expertise in data analysis, and a very different picture emerged.
That, ultimately, led to the creation of Student Data Analytics, our service offering designed specifically for parents like you. Data is at the heart of the entire IEP cycle and determines whether your child will get services and retain those services over time. When your child needs more than the district can offer, data is the key to securing the outcome you desire.
We are here to help you and your team as you advocate for your child's Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
